Homemade Gift Ideas part 1: How to Make Relaxing Bath Salts

These bath salts make a lovely homemade gift. They're great for Christmas, birthdays, hostess gifts, housewarming gifts, thank you gifts, new mum gifts or even a relaxing gift to yourself... the list goes on! Well, who wouldn't want to receive such a beautiful, natural, relaxing present?

And what's more, they are super quick, simple and inexpensive to make!

Homemade Gift Ideas: How to Make Relaxing Bath Salts

Let's jump right in. All you need is a couple of nice jars (similar to this), epsom salt (like this), bicarbonate of soda, dried flowers, essential oils and ribbons/ labels to decorate.

To fill two 250ml glass jars we used:

  • 1 cup epsom salt

  • 1/4 cup bicarb of soda

  • 1/2 cup dried flowers (we used 1/4 cup rose and 1/4 cup lavender)

  • 20 drops essential oil (we used 10 drops lavender and 10 drops chamomile

All you need to do is mix all of the ingredients together, pop the mixture into the jars and pop a nice ribbon or label on each. These keep really well and make great last minute gifts (we've all been there!).

It's always a good idea to write the ingredients on the label just incase someone has a sensitivity to any of them. It's also useful to write the directions on: sprinkle under the hot tap whilst running the bath. Soak and enjoy!
